Short Description

Patients with CKD display a dismal all-cause and cardiovascular mortality rate, and

kidney dysfunction (i.e. an insufficient nephroprotection) is a strong prognostic factor

in cardiovascular diseases (e.g. heart failure), whereas a severe kidney dysfunction is

usually an exclusion criterion in most cardiovascular outcome trials. We are therefore

especially lacking effective evidence-based cardiovascular prevention strategies in

patients with severe kidney function impairment, including end-stage renal disease

patients.

During this CME course, co-organized by Eureca-m, with the French CardioRenal

Network of excellence F-CRIN (French Clinical Research Infrastructure Network) INI-

CRCT (Cardiovascular and Renal Clinical Trialists www.inicrct.org, coordinated by P.

Rossignol, with G. London and Z. Massy as steering commitee members, all of them

being also Eureca-m board members), key-opinions in the cardiorenal field will give

state of the art lectures. Dedicated lectures and one workshop will also address the

randomized clinical trial methodology.
